Alexa, play Just Can’t Get Enough—because that’s exactly how I feel about every gift guide that crosses my path. Whether it’s a video, blog post, or infographic, I make my rounds every year, marvelling at their creativity and thinking about how ‘seen’ their recipients must feel.
My love for these thoughtfully curated lists definitely roots from hours spent flicking through magazines as a child, gawking at their impressive gift guides and collaging little pictures of soap and books in my notebooks. From that moment, I knew that I wanted to work for a magazine someday, compiling my own niche guides to inspire others with my love language. Now I finally have a blog of my own, I’m excited to share a couple of gift ideas that have been slowly brewing in my mind over way too many Christmases.
The fandom friend
Fleabag: The Scriptures, £14: buying someone the script of their favourite movie or series is such a special gift, especially when they’re compressed into a book as beautiful as this Fleabag hardback. Alternatively, Etsy is full of some great signed scripts that are perfect to frame or flick through.
Upcycled record bowl, £7: it’s so satisfying to finally find the perfect gift for the men in your life. When I came across these upcycled record bowls for my cousins last year, I was ecstatic– they’re such unique pieces and can be personalised with the recipient’s favourite album.
Andrew Garfield timer: this ‘We Live in Time’ inspired timer from the A24 shop is such a random gift and I’m obsessed.
Music merch from Luludrawww: Luludrawww is my go-to small business for music merch, from prints to baby tees. All her designs are hand illustrated and so special.
A24 merch: if you don’t quite fancy a timer with Andrew Garfield’s face plastered on it, the A24 shop has so many other great pieces. I especially love this test card soap in collaboration with Wary Meyers.
Director coffee table books, £35-55: these can be personalised to the recipient’s favourite director. Two books on my personal wishlist are Sofia Coppola Archive and Nora Ephron at the Movies.
Movie inspired scrunchies from Bradyscrunch, £10: I love the variety of films that are printed on these scrunchies, from Pride and Prejudice and Mamma Mia to Kill Bill.
Etsy soundwave keyring, £7: this is such a subtle, personal gift which can be created to mimic the soundwave of your favourite song
Stocking fillers and gifts under £15
Candle tins from Paddywax, £12: I love the festive scenes on these candle tins, which are seasonally-scented with notes of tangerine and holiday spices.
Beaded decorations from Søstrene Grene, from £3: this shop is one of my favourite discoveries of 2024. It’s full of so many trinkets and affordable treasures, including these gorgeous beaded decorations.
Ceramic coasters from Glassette, £15: ceramic decor is really having a moment this year and I haven’t seen anywhere with a better selection than Glassette. Each of these unique coasters are handmade to mimic the charming frilled napkins at the iconic Florentine Café, Vivoli.
Etsy bow huggies, £15: I actually received these bow huggies as a gift last Christmas and I’ve barely taken them off since. I’ve received so many compliments on them and the gold plating has lasted like a dream.
Puffy heart bag charm from Parfois, £10: this is the perfect bag accessory/ fidget toy to match your puffy winter wardrobe.
Amazon cherry bag charm, £4.50: if I wasn’t wearing my glasses, I’d think this was the Coach cherry bag charm. In fact, even with my glasses I’d be fooled.
Glass coaster, £15: I love the colours on this coaster, they remind me of Elmer the elephant. Each piece is handcrafted in Cornwall from colourful squares of glass to create a striking checkerboard design.
Shell trinket dish from Oliver Bonas, £6: to store your bow huggies and trinkets from Søstrene Grene.
Holiday in the city glass from Anthropologie, £10: I kind of like the idea of gifting someone a glass– it’s a little less basic than a mug and makes the perfect gift for iced drink lovers. You could even pair one with these beautiful glass straws.
Watercolour paint pad, £8: I love how everything you need is included in these beginner friendly paint pads from Typo.
